I love the fall. Here in Oregon it is one of the most beautiful seasons we have. Brilliant colors with warm late summer evenings that start to cool off as we head into winter. Winter tends to be cloudy, gray, wet with occasional bursts of glorious sunshine.
It’s during the winter that I tend to withdrawal, dig in and put the nose to the grindstone. This past couple of months that season started out just the same, but in the back 0f my mind there was the notion that something was going to change. What I kept thinking was that all I needed to do was to get through this season, then come up for air, take a look around and make some new course corrections.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, support and encouragement make ALL the difference.
The idea this time was that change was possible and that this time I had the support to make it happen. This time is that I have had my Board of Directors group to help me out.
Being a part of this group has:
- Helped me keep the light at the end of the tunnel in view
- Given me something to look forward too at the beginning of each week
- Encouraged and motivated me to keep working and moving forward
- Given me a chance to give back, brainstorm and encourage someone else
I don’t know about you but I’ve never had that before, at least not at this level and it is something I have wanted to be a part of for years. It is and will make a huge difference in my life and in my business.
Making business fun again
It is a time during the week that I really look forward to and the creative juices start to flow. We have fun talking about the possibilities, we are starting to really dig in and understand each others businesses and we absolutely can see the potential in each other. What an incredible gift!
Taking Action
With December and January being the busiest time of year for me, I am usually discouraged by the start of February for all the things I have not done. And even though my list of things to do is still long, I have also been able to implement more then I have in a long time. It has been good to look back and see what I have accomplished. Here is a quick list:
- I’m blogging here! Working on a schedule that will get me blogging consistently
- Launched a new membership site
- Currently in development of a new product for this site with a target release date of Mid-March
While this may not seem like much, I am excited! Compared to where I usually am this time of year it is pretty awesome, I am very pleased!
Seasons of change are something to embrace not to be dreaded, we need to remember that. While it may feel like you are hibernating or hiding out, there will come a time when the sun is back out and you are ready to go, the question is will you be ready? Will you have the support and encouragement you need to get back on track?
Have you gone through seasons like this? What got you through?
